New Thermal Imaging Cameras at Thermascan

In today's competitive business landscape, investing in the latest condition-monitoring technology is essential to stay ahead of the game.

With the help of the advanced thermal imaging cameras and software from Teledyne FLIR, you will detect potential faults and issues before they become major problems, saving your business time and money overall. Read on to discover new options and how these innovative pieces of equipment will help your business.

Teledyne FLIR E52

The Teledyne FLIR E52 is an entry-level thermal imaging camera in the EXX series, designed for professionals who need to quickly identify and locate hot spots on machinery, energy waste in buildings, and potential equipment failures—all areas concerned with essential condition monitoring and electrical or mechanical inspection.

With a 240 × 180 pixels thermal detector, it accurately measures temperatures up to 550°C (1022°F). It produces crisp, vibrant imagery that can be enhanced with patented FLIR MSX (Multispectral Dynamic Imaging) technology for added detail and perspective. The onboard FLIR Inspection Route feature can also run pre-planned routes to help you stay organised when surveying large or multiple locations.

FLIR E8 PRO

One of the latest products for thermal imaging is the advanced FLIR E8 Pro. With its advanced thermal imaging technology and FLIR-patented MSX enhancement, the camera quickly pinpoints hot spots and easily identifies problems.

The camera also features a user-friendly touchscreen, allowing users to organise photos, add detailed notes, and upload them for easy access from any device. With the ability to share images and notes and create client reports, the inspection process has never been more streamlined. This is already popular choice is already the camera of choice for condition monitoring, building inspections and electrical and mechanical maintenance checks.

Teledyne FLIR FH Series

The Teledyne FLIR FH series ID and R are static multispectral cameras designed to provide reliable and automated inspections of your facility.

These high-quality cameras capture data on a far broader range of the electromagnetic spectrum than single-spectrum cameras and ignore obscuring events such as rain, fog, and even an absence of light at night.

The Teledyne FLIR Triton FH-Series ID is a rugged multispectral fixed camera that integrates industry-leading thermal imaging technology, providing effective perimeter protection for your building's premises. Equipped with 4K visible imaging, these cameras offer reliable intruder-detection capabilities for perimeter security. Due to a built-in convolutional neural network (CNN), the connected software uses algorithms to detect and accurately detect, identify, and determine the threat of observed humans and vehicles moving at high or low speeds, minimising false alarms and daily operations costs.

The FLIR Triton FH-Series R are similarly durable multispectral fixed cameras that integrate industry-leading thermal imaging with 4K visible imaging to rapidly verify hot spots in early fire detection applications. These cameras are ideal for various applications, including fire safety, facility security, and other wireless monitoring tasks.

Teledyne FLIR Acoustic Imaging Cameras

Acoustic imaging cameras are unique compared to thermal imaging cameras as they detect sound waves that are not visible to the naked eye instead of infrared radiation. The Teledyne FLIR Si124 acoustic imaging camera is an advanced tool that helps locate pressurised leaks in compressed air systems or detect partial discharge from high-voltage electrical systems.

Unlike traditional methods, this lightweight, one-handed solution finds issues up to 10 times faster. Featuring 124 microphones, the Si124 produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud industrial environments.

The acoustic image is viewed in real-time on top of a digital camera picture, allowing your engineers to pinpoint the source of the sound accurately. Equipped with the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service, this smart tool automatically saves images to the cloud after capturing them. You can access stored files and separate sound sources for deeper analysis and classification of problems.

The FLIR Si124 helps facilities in ways that thermal imaging cameras can’t, therefore, saving money on utility bills and delaying the expense of installing new compressors through a regular maintenance routine.

Teledyne FLIR Ignite

Teledyne FLIR Ignite is a powerful cloud storage solution allowing users to upload, edit, organise, store, and share images and videos from select FLIR thermal cameras.

With FLIR Ignite, you end the need to copy images to other devices or back up data manually with this automatic wireless upload feature. This system works with most of our range of thermal cameras, including all mentioned in this blog, except the acoustic imaging cameras that use their unique system.

Once your images are uploaded to the cloud, you can access them from any computer or mobile device and edit them in the field. Stay organised and share findings with colleagues and clients using a password-protected link.

Easily create simple reports directly in the software or advanced reports in FLIR Thermal Studio and securely share the results with colleagues and clients. This software creates far more efficient inspection and condition monitoring processes for any facility.

New Condition Monitoring Tools

Apart from the E8 Pro we mentioned earlier, new imaging tools and software are constantly being developed to surpass current options. For example, we have the Exx Series Dual FOV, or FlexView, compatible with the FLIR E76, FLIR E86 and FLIR E96 cameras (the EXX Series).

FLIR FlexView is the ultimate solution for condition monitoring and other maintenance checks. With its dual field of view lens, the FlexView allows you to capture both full targets at close distances and small targets at longer distances, providing high-quality data that can improve decision-making.

Flexview is a lens that works with T5xx, T8xx, Exx (2020) and Axxx cameras.  It has a similar form factor as the lenses today, but it has a small switch on it which allows the user to switch between different FOVs (14 deg and 24 deg)

The lens also allows you to switch FOV with the press of a button, eliminating the need to exchange lenses in the field and saving time and space. The FlexView is perfect for use in fixed monitoring and unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), where changing lenses can be difficult. With the ability to capture a wide image of large targets and instantly switch to a narrow lens for smaller targets, you can get the most accurate temperature measurements and make better decisions. Additionally, the FlexView's optical zoom puts 2.8x pixels on your target, eliminating the need for digital zoom and providing even more precise data.
